Bifurcations in pen and ink

Today's (well, yesterday's) doodle in the moleskine (as usual, click on the photo to enlarge it) was brought on by the Illustration Friday prompt Intricate.

Real-life plants can be extremely intricate in their patterns of branching and development.

Does this nonsensical scribble have anything to do with a real-life plant? Absolutely not. Is it intricate? Not especially. It was, however, fun to make.

That's more important than you might think. I've been a bit depressed lately, and it's been a long time since I sat down to doodle just for fun. Maybe this will lead to more doodling just for fun.

I'd like that.

What a lovely end elegant "doodle", particularly considering it is from a slightly depressed and housebound mutterer in search of fun!! The promise of spring and an infusion of vitamin D is what keeps me going...

Doodling is, indeed, good for the soul. And though you may say it has nothing to do with real plants, the process is the same.

I really like this.

I love the design!
I have been finding myself doing the same thing as you- just doodling for fun & it's a wonderful help when stuck in a rut.

I love the whimsy in this and how much space it seems to create on a small page...
